Since the surface chemistry of foam control is similar to that required for web elimination, Surfynol® DF-37 is also an effective defoamer for a wide variety of water-based systems. This 100% active, silicone-free, organic defoamer also provides inherent wetting ability. Surfynol® DF-37 defoamer allows for consistent coverage of ceramic and synthetic forms used in latex dipping. It also promotes wetting of other low-energy substrates like plastics and contaminated or improperly cleaned surfaces. Because of its wetting capabilities, the tendency for Surfynol® DF-37 defoamer to cause fisheyes, craters, retraction and other surface defects is significantly reduced compared to most defoamers.
