ATOFINA provides an impressive range of Specialty Acrylic Monomers that are used as additives to enhance performance properties of various polymers. For instance, flocculants -- polymers in long, linear chains that are non-toxic and soluble in water -- can be made from a variety of monomers, including MADAME, ADAME, MADAMQUAT MC75, and ADAMQUAT MC80. Flocculants are frequently used to help remove pollutents from waste water. Butyl Methacrylate (nBMA) can be found in paints, varnishes, inks, adhesives, petroleum additives, and toner resins. Norsocryl® 102 is used as a wet adhesion promoting monomer in paint formulations to make the paint adhere better to slick surfaces.
