DENSIL TM C500 universal dispersion of 2,4,5,6-
tetrachloroisophthalonitrile (Chlorothalonil) that is
intended to be used as a point-of-sale post-add
fungicide to boost the fungicidal protection of the
dry film. DENSIL C500 is designed for use in both
water-based and solvent-based, interior and exte-rior,
architectural paints, stains and coatings. The
active ingredient in DENSIL C500, Chlorothalonil,
has been known for years as a broad spectrum film
fungicide for providing long-term protection against
fungal and mildew defacement.
Chlorothalonil is a multi-site protective fungicide.
The mode of action is the binding of the active
molecule to the glutathion moiety, thus preventing
completion of the energy cycle of the fungal
species, and ultimately controlling fungal growth.
Unlike many other systemic fungicides, this is not
a site specific activity. Hence, there is no known
resistance to the fungal control.
DENSIL C500 is a broad spectrum, highly effective
