Acrylic latex polymer for tannin stain blocking
primers without reactive pigments
Acronal Optive 410 is a styrene acrylic latex polymer developed
for stain blocking primers. Acronal Optive 410 latex shows excellent
tannin stain blocking properties without adding reactive pigments,
such as zinc oxide. Primers made with Acronal Optive 410 latex
can be formulated in a PVC range up to 45%. The stain blocking
capabilities of Acronal Optive 410 can be enhanced with the addition
of up to 25 pounds per 100 gallons of zinc oxide. This allows the
paint manufacturer flexibility in formulation design.
Paints made with Acronal Optive 410 have shown excellent adhesion
to a variety of substrates, including galvanized steel, aluminum
and aged alkyd. With the addition of anti-corrosive pigments, such
as Heucophos? ZPZ, Acronal Optive 410 gives good performance
in salt fog testing making it useful as a universal primer.

Due to its excellent adhesion properties, Acronal Optive 410 can be
used as an interior primer. Acronal Optive 410 can be used as a
metal primer with the incorporation of anti-corrosive pigments.

Provides very good tannin stain blocking properties without adding reactive pigments such as zinc oxide, very good adhesion to a variety of substrates including galvanized steel, aluminum and aged alkyd and good zinc oxide stability. Can be used as a metal primer in combination with anti-corrosive pigments.
