Basonat HI 268 B/S is suitable for crosslinking most hydroxy acrylic resins
Basonat HI 268 B/S, the solvent-containing form of Basonat HI 100, is
used in combination with acrylic resins containing hydroxyl groups for
particularly weather-resistant and lightfast top coats. There is not always
sufficient compatibility with polyester resins containing hydroxyl groups.
Results from weathering trials of many years have shown better gloss
retention in most cases in comparison to polyisocyanates based on
hexamethylene diisocyanate biurets (Basonat HB 100 and HB 175 MP/X).
When using Basonat HI 268 B/S or Basonat HI 100 instead of Basonat
HB 100 or Basonat HB 175 MP/X, due to the formers’ higher viscosity the
non-volatile fraction in paints can be raised.
Polyfunctional polyisocyanate based on an isocyanurate of hexamethylene diisocyanate solution in a blend of Solvesso 100 and n-butyl acetate. Used for lightfast and weather-resistant polyurethane finishes such as top coats. Can be used for crosslinking most hydroxy acrylic resins. Offers good retention of gloss.
