Aqueous radiation-curable polyurethane dispersion
Laromer LR 8949 is a physically drying radiation-curable aliphatic PUR
dispersion for the coating of wood, wood products and plastics. It can be
combined with suitable conventional dispersions (eg, the pure acrylic dis-persion
Acronal A 846) to improve drying of the coating before UV curing.
Curtain coating and spraying are the preferred application techniques for
coatings based on Laromer LR 8949.
After UV curing, the coatings exhibit excellent resistance to water and
chemicals as well as very good scratch resistance and resistance to
blocking.
Laromer LR 8949’s very good grain-enhancement properties on wood is a
distinct advantage.
Thickeners and defoamers are often included in the formulation. To pre-vent
precipitation or separation, these materials should be predispersed
with binder, wetting agent and water before being added. Matting agents
can be similarly incorporated.
Aqueous physically drying radiation-curable aliphatic PUR dispersion. Used for manufacture of varnishes for wood, wood products and plastics. Can be combined with conventional dispersions such as pure acrylic dispersion to improve drying. Provides very good resistance to water and chemicals, very good scratch resistance, resistance to blocking and very good grain-enhancement properties.
