Laromer LR 8983 is an aqueous radiation-curable, aromatic
polyurethane dispersion with lacquer-dry properties. It is intended
for the manufacture of blocking resistant varnishes for wood,
wood products, plastics, paper and printing inks.

Low-viscosity opaque liquid
Laromer LR 8983 is intended for the industrial coating of wood, wood
products and plastics. Curtain coating and spraying are the preferred
application techniques.
Coatings based on Laromer LR 8983 air dry to form tack-free films which-even
without radiation curing-exhibit good mechanical properties. Subse-quent
curing by UV or EB produces a hard/flexible finish that is resistant to
blocking and household chemicals.
Thanks to the properties of the non-irradiated film, formulations based on
Laromer LR 8983 are particularly suitable for coating three-dimensional
objects, parts of which may escape the full radiation dose during the UV
curing process.
One economic feature of Laromer LR 8983 is its ability to be recovered
from the overspray by ultrafiltration.
