Solubility aliphatic hydrocarbons insoluble alcohols soluble esters soluble ketones soluble glycol ethers soluble glycol ether acetates soluble water soluble Properties The paint additive Bayowet® FT 738 acts as a flow promoter in water- and solvent-based paint systems. lt eliminates structures, orange-peel effects, craters and pin holes. lt also improves wetting of difficult and contaminated substrates. Applications The paint additive Bayowet® FT 738 possesses good binder compatibility and high efficiency in many binders. lt is particularly suited to use in chemically hardening systems, e.g. polyester isocyanate or acrylic isocyanate systems. Addition rate Recommended addition rates are 0.03 to 0.1% active ingredient, relative to total volume. The exact amount must be determined before large - scale use as both too large and too small amounts may result in adverse effects. Recoatability Loss of adhesion between base and top coat or of recoatability is unlikely when used in small amounts. Negative effects e.g. caused by overbaking may be intensified, however.
