Properties
Baysilone®-Paint Additive MA is a very effective levelling agent. lt reduces surface tension and prevents horizontal floating of pigments.
Applications
Baysilone®-Paint Additive MA is very well suited to use in polymers which dry physically. lt acts as a very effective flow-promoter in numerous alkyd paints.
In unsaturated polyester paints containing paraffin, it promotes uniform floating of the paraffin and deaeration. Its binder compatibility is limited.
Addition rate
0.01 - 0.05% based on solids content; 0.001% in unsaturated polyester paints containing paraffin.
Recoatability
Direct impairment of over-paintability and adhesion is unlikely at the recommended addition rates. Since such defects, the causes of which include over-stoving, may sometimes be considerably intensified, we recommend that the product is used primarily in top coats.
