esters soluble
ketones soluble
glycol ethers soluble
glycol ether acetates glycol ether acetates soluble
water soluble
Properties
Baysilone®-Paint Additive OL 31 is a very effective levelling agent and also improves slip properties. lt eliminates craters, spray structures and surface defects such as may be caused by silicone products (e.g. in polishes).
Applications
Baysilone®-Paint Additive OL 31 is usable both in paints which dry physically and in chemically curing paints.
lt is characterised by good binder compatibility and is particularly suitable for use in silicone resins. Since solutions in water are relatively stable, its use in waterborne paints is also possible in principle. Extensive trials should nevertheless be performed beforehand.
Addition rate
0.05 - 0.5% based on solids content.
Recoatability
Loss of adhesion between base and top coat or of recoatability is unlikely at low addition rates. Such defects, the causes of which include over-baking, may be intensified, however.
