As it contains no volatile organic compounds, it is used primarily for environmentally friendly coatings. Properties Owing to its special molecular structure, Borchi® Gel VP 0013 has Newtonian flow behavior. The application of emulsion paints by brush and roller is made easier and the cover rate increased. In addition, sagging and spattering are prevented during application. To optimize the coating properties, Borchi® Gel VP 0013 can be combined with other polyurethane thickeners and with other thickeners such as cellulose and acrylate thickeners. Applications Borchi® Gel VP 0013 can be used in all formulations based on binder dispersions. It is particularly suitable for use in acrylate and styrene/acrylate dispersions. Mixing and Addition Rate Owing to its low inherent viscosity, Borchi® Gel VP 0013 can be added without pre-thinning at any stage of production. It can also be added at the end of formulation to correct the final viscosity. Depending on the type of binder used and the desired viscosity, the addition is 0.2 to 1.5 % Borchi® Gel VP 0013 in its supply form, calculated on the total formulation. However, the optimum amount should be determined individually by pre-trials. Polyurethane thickener for waterborne coatings. Non-ionic, with Newtonian properties.
