Borchi® Gen HMP is completely silicone-free. Properties Borchi® Gen HMP is used to improve adhesion, predominantly in baking systems. Since Borchi® Gen HMP is highly compatible with most binders, it can be used universally and even in water-borne one-coat systems, for example. Clear improvement in adhesion is attainable, particularly on aluminium and non-ferrous metals. Applications Borchi® Gen HMP brings about significant improvement in adhesion in alkyd baking paints and primers, even on difficult substrates such as zinc and aluminium. In addition to improved adhesion, increased film elasticity is also achievable. Borchi® Gen HMP is color-fast even at higher temperatures. Sudden changes in temperature and curing temperatures up to 280 °C do not therefore cause adverse effects. On the basis of available experience, no adverse effects of the weathering resistance and shelf-life of the paints was observed. Mixing and addition rate With certain types of titanium dioxide and pigments after-treated with zinc oxide, reduction in gloss may occur during storage of the paint. Borchi® Gen HMP is a liquid and is therefore easy to incorporate. In most cases optimum results are achievable with an addition rate of approximately 2 % relative to total paint formulation. Larger amounts may be added under certain circumstances to improve elasticity. Borchi® Gen HMP can be added either during manufacture of the paint or subsequently. lf the additive is to be used in water-based paints, it should first be neutralised. We recommend dilution of Borchi® Gen HMP with 20 % dimethylethanolamine. Addesion promoter, used mainly in baking paints and primers completely silicone-free. Free of mechanical impurities.
