It has a low viscosity and can be incorporated easily. Preventing undesired skin-formation on paints during storage Borchi® Nox 121 improves the storage stability of oxidatively drying coating systems. Because of its limited volatility Borchi® Nox 121 keeps the film open to ensure penetration of oxygen to lower film layers. Hence Borchi® Nox 121 promotes through dry and also improves flow properties. In contrast to phenolic antioxidants Borchi® Nox 121 does not give yellowing. Applications Borchi® Nox 121 is suitable for all solvent borne and solvent free coatings. It might be used in clear coats and in pigmented systems. Mixing and Addition Rate Borchi® Nox 121 is added in its supply form. It can be incorporated into the mill base or dispersed into the end product. The addition of Borchi® Nox 121 is 0,5 to 5,0 %, calculated on the total formulation. The optimum addition depends on the binder used and has to be determined in preliminary trials.
