Recommended for drying at low tem-perature and high atmospheric humidity. Description The combination drier Octa-Soligen® 421 aqua was developed in our laboratory specially for drying waterborne alkyd resins. Owing to its good compatibility with standard resins, it is particularly stable. Octa-Soligen® 421 aqua causes no yellowing. Properties Octa-Soligen® 421 aqua is a stable aqueous product that can be incorporated easily. It is a mixed metal drier that develops high reactivity, thus yielding good drying properties at low temperature and high humidity. Numerous aging and storage tests in our laboratories have shown that Octa-Soligen® 421 aqua has a very stable drying action. Applications Octa-Soligen® 421 aqua is particularly suitable for use in systems based on long-oil alkyds and in high-build systems (> 100 µm wet). Experience has shown that low temperatures and high atmospheric humid-ity (13 °C and 80 % relative humidity) can have a very negative impact on drying. The combination of metals in Octa-Soligen® 421 aqua is harmonized such that rapid drying is ensured even under these difficult conditions. Numerous tests in our laboratories have confirmed the outstanding results. The product thus offers coatings formulators a good solution to a major problem. Addition The recommended addition is 4 to 6 g Octa-Soligen® 421 aqua (supply form), calculated on 100 g solid binder Mixed metal drier containing no heavy metals for water-borne alkyd resins.
