*HQHUDO IRGACURE 500 is a liquid mixture of two photoinitiators. It is used to
initiate the photopolymerisation of chemically unsaturated prepolymers
- e.g. acrylates - in combination with mono- or multifunctional
monomers.
$SSOLFDWLRQV IRGACURE 500 may be used after adequate testing alone or in
combination with suitable coinitiators, such as amines for applications
such as UV curable clear coatings for paper, metal and plastic
materials.
Its low viscosity provides an additional advantage lowering the viscosity
of the total formulation.
As a liquid initiator IRGACURE 500 is especially suitable to be used for
the dispersion in water based UV formulations.
The amount of IRGACURE 500 required for optimum performance
should be determined in trials covering a concentration range.
Liquid mixture of two photoinitiators 50 % 1-hydroxy-cyclohexyl-phenyl-ketone (IRGACURE Ò 184) and 50 % benzophenone. Can be used to initiate the photopolymerisation of chemically unsaturated prepolymers - e.g. acrylates - in combination with mono- or multifunctional monomers. May be used alone or in combination with suitable coinitiators, such as amines for applications such as UV curable clear coatings for paper, metal and plastic materials. Low viscosity. Lowers the viscosity of the total formulation. Suitable to be used for the dispersion in water based UV formulations.
Miscibility in most common organic solvents, as well as most acrylate based monomers, exceeds 50g/100g solution.
Recommended usage level: 2.0-6.0% .
