Mixture of modifield compounds containing tannin On account of its chemical composition ALCOPHOR AC both passivates rust residues after mechanical pre-treatment of the substrate, and causes residual moisture to be eliminated from the paint film by a capillary effect. Typical fields of application include corrosion primers, paints for agricultural machinery, car-body paints and similar uses where long-term protection against corrosion is required. ALCOPHOR AC is suitable for use in anti-corrosive paints based on binders drying by oxidation such as: epoxy esters, alkyd resins of any kind, linseed oil - stand oil. ALCOPHOR AC should be incorporated prior to dispersing the pigments, although it may also be added afterwards. The quantity required is generally between 2 - 5 %, calculated on the total paint. It is advisable to determine the optimum amount by a laboratory test. Usual amounts have no adverse effect on gloss or drying. Yellowing phenomena have not been noticed. The characteristic colour of ALCOPHOR AC should be taken into consideration in connection with light coloured one-coat paints. Mixture of modifield compounds containing tannin.
