Composition Polyurethane polymer in water/butoxydiglycol
DSX 1550 is suitable for thickening and modification
of flow properties of waterborne polymers and other
aqueous systems as well as for finished products
like coatings and putties.
The following advantages are obtained:
improvement of flow and gloss, increase of hiding
power, wash and scrub resistance, outstanding
spatter resistance during roller application.
DSX 1550 itself is film building, shows good affinity
to pigments and thickening independent from
pH-value.
Application These properties can be achieved in all kind of
emulsions based on e.g. acrylic copolymer, vinyl
acetate homopolymer, acrylic polmyers, PVAc-VC
copolymers, polyurethanes, amine neutralized and
emulsified systems.
Dosage The recommended dosage lies between 0.2 - 2%,
calculated on total formulation. It depends on
pigmentation, kind of binder, emulsifier used and
co-solvent.
Non diluted DSX 1550 can be incorporated into the
systems while stirring it. Cuts in butyl cellusolve or
1.2 propylenglycol are possible as well.
