Composition Blend of special fat derivatives and alkylene oxide
derivatives with hydrocarbons, con-taining a slight
amount of silicone.
Ionic character non-ionic
DEHYDRAN 1227 may be used for foam
suppression during polymerization and also during
subsequent processing of the polymer emulsions. It
has a good spontaneous and a good long-term
defoaming effect.
DEHYDRAN 1227, even with regard to the
elimination of micro foam, displays an excellent
anti-foaming effect when incorporated in emulsion
paints based on fine particle size styrene/acrylic
copolymers, vinyl acetate/acrylic copolymers, pure
acrylics, etc. Long-term evaluations showed no
deterioration of the defoaming effect.
On account of the test results (good compatibility, no
reduction of gloss) DEHYDRAN 1227 is excellently
suited for incorporation in emulsion paints containing
low pigment quantities (high gloss emulsion paints).
Dosage Dosage is 0.2 to 0.7%, calculated on paint
formulation.
