Use "CKU" PHENOLIC DISPERSIONS are made up of a
combination of oils and phenolic resins which are
highly polymerized and finely dispersed in solvent.
They are normally employed in combination with
alkyd resins (preferably linseed and/or tung oil
based) in the preparation of anticorrosive primers
and alkyd based paints in so far as they confer to
the system very brief tack-free time as well as
adhesion to galvanized steel and light alloys.
These systems may be overcoated even with
products containing strong solvents and resist very
well to corrosion.
CKU 2360 gives more flexible films than those ones
based on CKU 2950 and therefore an alkyd or
oleophenolic co-vehicle is not necessarily needed.
Therefore this type may be used alone as a binder in
the formulation of anticorrosive primers. It is stable
with basic pigments, is dispersed in white spirit and,
even though its solvent release is rather fast, it may
be used for paints to be applied with a brush.
