Dibutyl sebacate
EDENOL® DBS is a very effective plasticizer for
PVC being used generally together with a less
volatile plasticizer such as DOP.
EDENOL® DBS is insoluble in water, but soluble in
most important lacquer solvents and miscible with
commonly known plasticizers. EDENOL® DBS is far
less volatile than dibutyl phthalate, but does not
achieve the low volatility of DOP.
EDENOL® DBS is very suitable for plasticizing
numerous plastic and paint raw materials. It is
compatible with:
ethyl cellulose
cellulose aceto butyrate
cellulose nitrate
chlorinated rubber
nitrile rubber
polymethyl methacrylate
polyvinylchloride and its copolymers
polyvinylacetate
polyvinylbutyrate.
Futhermore, it has a limited compatibility with
cellulose acetate.
On account of its purely aliphatic structure,
EDENOL® DBS guarantees an extremely high light
resistance and provides products resistant against
low temperatures, whereby, flexibility is maintained
over a wide temperature range.
Dibutyl sebacate. Used as a very effective plasticizer for paint raw materials. Gives compatibility with ethyl cellulose, cellulose aceto butyrate, cellulose nitrate, chlorinated rubber, nitrile rubber, polymethyl methacrylate, polyvinylchloride and its copolymers, polyvinylacetate and polyvinylbutyrate. Offers very high light resistance and resistance against low temperatures. Maintains flexibility over a wide temperature range.
