It is especially effective in the fine particle resin emulsions. Although it is only sparingly dispersible in water, the defoamer disperses easily in paint, so that even in a medium viscosity paint there is no tendency of the defoamer to cream to the surface. Dosage From 0.2 to 0.5 % of FOAMASTER 8034 FA should be used, calculated on the weight of the finished paint. If required, the amount used can be raised to 1 %. The efficiency of a defoamer depends on its distribution in the coating. Therefore it is recommended to add the defoamer prior to mixing or grinding. This method guarantees a homogenious distribution and a good air release which makes grinding more efficient. Defoamer for emulsion paints.
