NUODEX Driers and Catalysts DRYMAX
Drier promotor
GENERAL INFORMATION
Drymax is a chelating agent used for drier acceleration and stabilisation. Content : approx 30%
APPLICATION AND PROPERTIES
Drymax is used in conjunction with primary driers such as cobalt and manganese. The cobalt-Drymax complex regulates the catalytic and improves through drying and hardness. Therefore, Drymax is specially recommended in those systems that show a too rapid surface drying, as a result of the high reactivity of the binder; notably High Solids Paints and Waterborne Coatings
DOSAGE
Drymax can be added under low shear agitation during the let-down stage of coatings manufacture. For use in waterborne coatings, it is preferably premixed with co-solvents and NUODEX WEB Co 8, to ensure optimum dispersion in the system. Drymax is effective at application levels in the range of 0.2 - 0.35% as supplied, calculated on the amount of resin solids. The optimal dosage –being quite critical and dependent on the composition of the coating- should be determined experimentally. The lower level is suggested for whites and the light colors, since Drymax may have some influence on the color.
