干燥剂 Drier / Siccative 木器 &家具涂层 Wood & Furniture Coatings NUODEX Driers and Catalysts NUACT NOPB Loss-of-dry Inhibitor GENERAL INFORMATION NUACT NOPB is a lead- and barium-free loss-of-dry inhibitor for oxidatively drying paints. The product stabilises the drying properties during storage. APPLICATION AND PROPERTIES Paints based on carbon blacks, organic pigments and similar pigments, having large surface areas may loose the initial drying properties because of physical and chemical adsorption reactions between the drier and the pigment surface. Using NUACT NOPB avoids the loss-of dry in these paints. Feature -> Consequence strongly adsorps on reactive pigments -> prevents adsorption of cobalt drier -> reduces loss-of-dry upon paint storage -> improves paint quality and consistency liquid -> may be post-added DOSAGE NUACT NOPB may be added before the grinding process or during the let-down of paint manufacture. As NUACT NOPB is supplied as a low viscous liquid it can be added easily. We recommend the following dosages, calculated on total resin solids: 1.25 – 2.5% (for air-drying paints) however the exact concentration should be determined experimentally. Example Black paint without Loss-of-dry inhibitor Drying time Initial: 3.7 hrs Drying time Aged for 1 year: 9.0 hrs Same paint with 2.5% NUACT NOPB Drying time Initial: 3.4 hrs Drying time Aged for 1 year: 4.7 hrs Lead- and barium-free loss-of-dry inhibitor for oxidatively drying paints.
