NUODEX WEB DRIERS
NUODEX WEB driers are water emulsifiable. They contain special complexing and reactive emulsifiers which allows spontaneous emulsification in water and other aqueous solutions. They are used in oxidatively drying systems based on water emulsifiable or water soluble alkyd resins and also provide better compatibility in water-borne paints. These driers can be added during the let-down stage of the paint production. It is however, recommended to pre-mix the product with the resin, the thickening agent or to add it to an aqueous emulsion (approx. 10%). This reduces the risk of flocculation or coagulation.
The following guidelines are meant to give a general indication (% drier based on resin solids). Either one of these drier suggestions is likely to give an optimal drying performance.
NUODEX WEB Cobalt 8% : 0.8 - 1.5%
NUODEX WEB Cobalt 8% : 0.5 - 1.3% & NUODEX WEB Zirconium 12% : 0.8 - 2.5%
NUODEX WEB Cobalt 8% : 0.5 - 1.0% & NUODEX WEB Manganese 9% : 0.5 - 1.0%
NUODEX Combination LS : 1.5% - 3.0%
SERAD FS 530/FS 531 : 1.0 - 5.0% (on total paint)
NUODEX WEB Cobalt 8% : 0.7 - 1.3% & NUODEX Cobalt 254 : 0.2 - 0.6% (on total paint)

This Product is especially recommended for alkyd emulsion paints.
The optimal drier concentration should however be determined experimentally
