GENERAL INFORMATION
NUVIS FX 2050 is a highly effective polymeric thickening agent for use in solvent-borne industrial coatings.
APPLICATION AND PROPERTIES
The addition of NUVIS FX 2050 improves the rheological properties of solvent-borne industrial paints by increasing the low shear viscosity and providing the paint a thixotropic behaviour. This will result in good anti-sagging and anti-settling properties in which a good levelling is retained. In comparison with some other competitive thickeners NUVIS FX 2050 is easy to incorporate and will not need a minimum production temperature and is seeding resistant. False body effects are also minimised with the use of NUVIS FX 2050. NUVIS FX 2050 is best used in conjunction with high solid and conventional industrial resins such as: ? polyester baking enamels ? 2K epoxy resins ? 2K PU resins FEATURE -> CONSEQUENCE good thickening -> anti-sagging properties -> anti-settling -> good levelling -> thixotropic behaviour -> false body effects Easy incorporation -> no seeding effects
DOSAGE
For maximum efficiency, NUVIS FX 2050 is added prior to the grinding stage. NUVIS FX 2050 can also be used as a post additive. The concentration of NUVIS FX 2050 varies from ca 0.5 - 3% on total formulation. As the composition and production procedures of coatings may vary enormously, it is recommended to check applicability in each case separately.
