This product reduces yellowing and is also recommended as a drier for water-base coatings and also for High Solids. In combination with Cobalt and Manganese. SER-AD FS 530 acts as a loss-of-dry inhibitor. 1) Drier for urethane alkyd lacquers: SER-AD FS 530 can be used as the sole drier, however, in many cases, optimum results are obtained when the product is used in com-bination with Calcium and/or Zirconium driers. We recommend to use 0.5% - 3.0%m of SER-AD FS 530, based on vehicle solids. For optimal drying results it can be combined with approx. 1 - 3%m NUODEX Calcium 10% and/or 0.5 – 1.5%m NUODEX Zirconium 18%. 2)Loss-of-dry inhibitor for water-borne alkyd paints: SER-AD FS 530 acts as an excellent loss-of-dry inhibitor for paints based on water dilutable, oxidatively drying alkyd resins. Furthermore, a combination of SER-AD FS 530 and NUODEX WEB driers not only improves the drying stability during storage but also improves the hardness and through dry. For such combinations, the following quantities are suggested: 0.5 – 2.5% SER-AD FS 530, calculated on total weight of paint and, 0.8 – 1.2% NUODEX WEB Co 8% and/or NUODEX WEB Mn 9%, calculated on total alkyd solids. SER-AD FS 530 may be pre-mixed with the above mentioned driers, the thickening agent and co-solvents. This mixture can then be added during the let down stage of the paint production.
