SER-AD FX 365 shows outstanding pigment wetting and stabilizing properties. APPLICATION AND PROPERTIES SER-AD FX 365 is composed of a nonionic AB-polymer with hydrophilic polyether segments and electron-rich hydrophobic backbones. This diverse composition accounts for the strong affinity of SER-AD FX 365 into various interfaces. The strong adsorption onto solid substrates such as pigments and extenders results in excellent pigment wetting and dispersing properties. Since SER-AD FX 365 is nonionic it may therefore be used in combination with anionic, nonionic or even cationic surfactants. SER-AD FX 365 is applicable in practically all types of aqueous coatings or pigment pastes. Furthermore, good results have been obtained in various solvent-based paints. As SER-AD FX 365 is not ionised in water, it is recommended to use it in conjunction with a polyelectrolyte dispersant, such as SER-AD FX 504, in aqueous dispersions of hydrophilic pigments. For hydrophobic pigments, including inert organic pigments, SER-AD FX 365 can be used as single dispersant and stabilizer. FEATURE -> CONSEQUENCE Polymeric amphiphilic structure -> optimises color development -> less flocculation -> highest pigment loading NO-VOC, low odour -> can be used in NO-VOC, low odour paints and pigment concentrates DOSAGE The product is preferably added prior to the dispersion stage. The quantity is strongly dependent on the composition, the coating or pigment paste formulation and should be determined experimentally. For use in coatings in general, a concentration of 0.2¡1.0 % on total weight in the formulation will give satisfaction results. For pigment dispersions a dosage of 2 ¡ 10 % is recommended. Starting formulations for aqueous as well as universally applicable pigment dispersions are available upon request. As the composition of coatings may vary enormously it is highly recommended to check applicability in each case separately.
