DYNASYLAN® OCTEO, a monomeric medium-chain alkylfunctional silane.
DYNASYLAN® OCTEO is a clear colourless liquid and soluble in common non-polar organic solvents (e.g. petroleum ether, toluene).
Because of its unique structure, DYNASYLAN® OCTEO exhibits superior hydrophobicity on substrates and form weather- and moisture-resistant bonds to substrates as well.
Use of DYNASYLAN® OCTEO silane results in waterproofing by impregnation when used as a water-repellent on inorganic surfaces like concrete, compatibility improvements between pigments or inorganic fillers and organic polymers or solvents, allowing easy pigment(e.g. iron oxides or titanium dioxide) or mineral filler(e.g. ATH, MDH) dispersion.
DYNASYLAN® OCTEO silane can be used as a surface modifier to generate hydrophobicity (e.g. on concrete, glass, inorganic pigments, or mineral fillers).
