D.E.R.* 6770 solid epoxy resin is a
modified, high molecular weight reaction
product of liquid epoxy resin and
bisphenol-A.
D.E.R. 6770 is a high molecular
weight, solid epoxy resin which is
internally flexibilized and as a result is
particularly suitable for powder coating
applications requiring a high
degree of flexibility. D.E.R. 6770 epoxy
resin can be cross linked using epoxy
hardeners typically used in powder
coating formulations. Due to its high
molecular weight, D.E.R. 6670 epoxy
resin can also be cross linked via the
secondary hydroxyl groups located
along the polymer chains with suitable
curing agents (i.e. resoles, isocyanates).
For the formation of highly
flexible systems possessing fast reactivity
characteristics, adducted imidazole-
types of accelerators can also be
used to provide greater latency during
extrusion. The high molecular weight
of D.E.R. 6770 resin imparts specific
properties not normally found with low
molecular weight solid epoxy resin
based formulations. Some processing
parameters may need to be adjusted
accordingly.

degree of flexibility.
