Dow Corning® 7 Additive has been successful in these industrial applications1:
? To provide foam control
Ink: Solvent-based screen printing ink at 0.05-0.1%
Solvent-based flexographic and gravure ink at 0.1-0.2%
Coating: Solvent-based wood coating at 0.05-0.1%
Solvent-based industrial coating at 0.05-0.1%
Paint Solvent-based paint at 0.1-0.2%
? To improve leveling/wetting:
Ink: Solvent-based flexographic ink at 0.1-0.2%
Coating: Solvent-based wood coating at 0.5-5%
Solvent-based industrial coating at 1.0-2.0%
Solvent-based industrial metal decor coating at 0.5-1.0%
Paint: Solvent-based paint at 0.05-0.1%
HOW TO USE
Dow Corning 7 Additive is effective
at low concentrations. The amount
required depends on type of formulation,
the solvent it contains,
resin system and total system solids.
Dow Corning 7 Additive is generally
effective at concentrations ranging
from 0.05-5% weight percent, based
upon total formulation. This additive
can be added during the grind
or let-down or can be post-added.
Characteristics may vary when used
with different systems and formulations.
Dow Corning 7 Additive is compatible
with acrylic, alkyd, amide, epoxy, nitrocellulose, polyesters,
polyurethane and vinyl systems.
Thorough preproduction testing is
necessary to ensure expected
performance.
Provides foam control and leveling/wetting aid in solventbased coating systems. Can be added during the grind, let down or be post-added.
Recommended usage levels:
To provide foam control in solvent-based wood coating add 0.05-0.1%, in solvent-based industrial coating add 0.05-0.1%, in solvent-based paint add 0.1-0.2%.
To improve leveling/wetting: in solvent-based wood coating add 0.5-5%, in solvent-based industrial coating ad 1.0-2.0%, in solvent-based industrial metal decor coating add 0.5-1.0%, in solvent-based paint add 0.05-0.1%.
