Maintenance paints, colored baking enamels, decorative finished. Improves heat resistance, weathering of organic resins. As an additive to improve flow-out of epoxy paints, initial gloss.
Silicone resin in toluene
Blend with up to 50% in organic resins used as binders for finishes to improve gloss and colour retention at temperatures up to 430°C (806°F).
Paints containing acrylic resins cold blended with DOW CORNING 840 Resin
have proved highly suitable for use as touch up paints.
Aluminium coatings containing 10% to 30% of the resin will resist 650°C
(1202°F) over short periods.
Silicone-ceramic coatings based on DOW CORNING 840 Resin containing
ceramic frits are serviceable up to 750°C (1382°F).

Silanol functional silicone resin in toluene. Used as a binder in maintenance paints, colored baking enamels, decorative finished, paints containing acrylic resins, aluminium coatings and silicone-ceramic coatings. Improves heat resistance, weathering, gloss and colour retention at temperatures up to 430°C. Offers very good leafing properties and water resistance and very high temperature protection over short periods. Can be used as a levelling agent to improve surface appearance of organic protective coatings and to improve flow-out of epoxy paints.
