EASTMAN chlorinated polyolefin CP 343-3 (25% in Aromatic 100) is a 25% solids solution of a chlorinated polyolefin in Aromatic 100, which has low HAPs content. This chlorinated polyolefin is 26–32 wt % chlorine and has a Gardner color value of 6–7. EASTMAN CP 343-3 is a solution at room temperature. If the product gels on storing at low temperatures, it can be reliquified by warming with agitation. Due to its higher chlorine content when compared to EASTMAN CP 343-1, EASTMAN CP 343-3 may be used as an additive to coatings, inks, resins, and adhesives for improved adhesion to plastic substrates. Its higher chlorine content allows for improved compatibility with coatings, inks, resins, and adhesives, and improved solubility in ester and ketone solvents. EASTMAN CP 343-3 is an excellent adhesion promoter for polyolefin plastics that allows for formulation of coatings for plastic with low HAPs content.
