These and other desirable properties make PENTREX 28 synthetic resin especially suitable for use in lacquers, low bake enamels, printing inks, and grease resistant coatings. Hard; excellent solvent release; low viscosity in lacquer solvents; good initial color; excellent adhesion; wide range of compatibility and good solubility. Compatible at all ratios, or in limited but practically useful proportions, with nitrocellulose, chlorinated rubber, polyvinyl chloride, and ester type waxes. Partially compatible with ethylcellulose and EHEC (ethyl hydroxyethylcellulose). Incompatible with cellulose acetate. Coatings Enamels Inks Lacquers Hard, pale, thermoplastic maleic modified glycerol ester of rosin. Used in lacquers, low bake enamels, printing inks, and grease resistant coatings. Offers very good solubility and solvent release and low solution viscosities in lacquer type solvents. Gives good initial color, very good adhesion and compatibility with nitrocellulose, chlorinated rubber, polyvinyl chloride, and ester type waxes.
