Soluble in aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, esters and ketones
Insoluble in water
Additive to improve surface characteristics of coatings
Solvent-free modified polysiloxane
EFKA-3236 is an organically modified polysiloxane, soluble in aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, esters and ketones, insoluble in water.
EFKA-3236 improves the general surface characteristics and in particular the following advantages are gained.
improves levelling and surface smoothness
increases slip and mar-resistance
prevents orange-peel effect or cratering
stabilizes the curtain in curtain coating application
avoids the formation of Bénard cells (anti-floating effect)
improves overspray acceptance
acts as a defoamer and de-aeration aid
EFKA-3236 is especially recommended for non-aqueous coatings such as:
stoving enamels based on alkyd-, acrylic- or polyester resins
acid cured- or polyurethane- wood finishes particularly when applied curtain coating
self-levelling epoxy flooring compounds
UV-cured paper lacquers
air-dried alkyd systems
Addition: 0.04 - 0.4% on total formulation
Solvent-free modified polysiloxane. Used to improve surface characteristics for non-aqueous coatings such as stoving enamels based on alkyd-, acrylic- or polyester resins, acid cured- or polyurethane- wood finishes particularly when applied curtain coating, self-levelling epoxy flooring compounds, UV-cured paper lacquers and air-dried alkyd systems. Improves levelling and surface smoothness. Increases slip and mar-resistance. Prevents orange-peel effect or cratering. Stabilizes curtain in curtain coating application. Avoids formation of Bénard cells (anti-floating effect). Improves overspray acceptance. Can be used as a defoamer and de-aeration aid. <br>
