BENTONE 38 is an organic derivative of a special smectite. This highly efficient rheological additive is designed for low to intermediate polarity organic systems.

Light colored, non-abrasive organically modified hectorite. Used as a a highly efficient rheological additive for low to intermediate polarity materials such as mineral oils, vegetable oils, petroleum distillates, and cyclomethicones. Offers predictable, reproducible and stable viscosity control, shear-thinning flow, very good suspension of pigments and actives, controlled alignment of special-effect pigments, thermostable rheology, reduced syneresis and improved emulsion stability.
Applications: exterior architectural primer, appliance and metal furniture primer and topcoat.
