M-P-A 1078 X additive is designed for highly efficient control of pigment settling in industrial finishes. The first in
a new generation of antisettling agents, M-P-A 1078 X additive handles easily and disperses rapidly. It is organic
in nature, having a nominal non-volatile content of 40%.

Organic Rheological Additive
M-P-A 1078 X additive is the most effective antisettling agent for industrial solvent based coatings. It prevents the
formation of difficult to disperse hard packed pigment cake during use and storage.
M-P-A 1078 X additive is versatile, and may be used in both industrial and trade sales coatings, where the use of
the xylene carrier is suitable. Excellent results have been obtained in organic zinc rich, aluminum and other
active metal containing coatings. M-P-A 1078 X additive has been shown to have no effective on gassing in such
systems (see TS 198, 199).
M-P-A 1078 X additive contributes little to the apparent package viscosity of the coating, while providing pigment
antisettling. Where a higher viscosity is desired, it is advantageous to use M-P-A 1078 X additive in combination with other RHEOX rheological additives which are designed to increase viscosity, such as THIXATROL® ST,
BENTONE® 27 or BENTONE 38. Sufficient THIXATROL or BENTONE rheological additive should be used to
give the required viscosity, and M-P-A 1078 X additive added until the desired additional degree of pigment
settling control is achieved.
