Santicizer®160 is highly compatible with acrylics, allowing formulators to increase filler levels without sacrificing the physical performance of their paints. Santicizer®160 can improve coalescing and cold check performance of cure films. All of our Benzyl Phthalate products provide excellent weatherability, paintability and long term anti-fungal properties in paints and coatings. Chemical Type : Butyl Benzyl Phthalate Santicizer® 160 Plasticizer is a highly efficient primary plasticizer that offers formulators and manufacturers unusually good processing features (fast fusion, higher filler loadings, better foam expansion) and imparts excellent "end-use" properties such as migration and extraction resistance, foam resilience, stain resistance and abrasion resistance. Santicizer®160 and Santicizer®141 improve flexibility and cold check performance of nitro-cellulose films. They are primarily used to plasticize flexographic inks used in food packaging applications where FDA approvals are required. The choice for Nitrocellulose lacquers and films, Santicizer® 160 offers better permanence (lower volatility) and improved resistance to extraction by water than DBP. Santicizer® 160 also functions well in polyurethane-based materials for use in caulks/ sealants, coatings and elastomeric compositions. It is compatible with a wide range of urethane compositions, offering superior physical properties and retention of physicals. It also is resistant to hydrolysis and to extraction by jet fuels. Compared to Benzoflex 9-88, Santicizer® 160 provides very low and extremely consistent free-hydroxyl content as it resists fungal attack. In acrylic coatings, Santicizer® 160 allows excellent gloss because it resists water spotting and humidity. The standard plasticizer for this type of lacquer, Santicizer® 160 imparts desirable flexibility and flowout. Butyl benzyl phthalate. Used as a very good plasticizer in paints, inks and coatings.
