SILICONE POLYOL COPOLYMER
GP-214 is a high molecular weight copolymer of silicone and polyol blocks, which is designed to act as a surface active agent in both aqueous and non-aqueous systems. GP-214 contains polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene copolymer adducts to a polydimethyl-siloxane backbone, with silicone to polyol segments joined by non-hydrolyzable silicon to carbon bonds. GP-214 is not water soluble, but shows solubility or dispersibility in a wide range of hydrocarbon and chlorinated hydrocarbon solvents. GP-214 contains no functional groups and is chemically inert, and essentially nontoxic. Some of the special properties of GP-214 are listed below:
High Viscosity
Non-Hydrolyzable
Low Freeze Point
GP-214 is recommended for evaluation as a profoaming additive in plastisol and organosol formulations and in polyether type polyurethane foams. Other suggested applications include:
Pigment Dispersant
Wetting agent
Internal Lubricant (Plastics)
Thread Lubricant
Leveling and Flow Control Agent (Solvent Coatings)
Chemically inert, non-hydrolyzable, high molecular weight copolymer of silicone and polyol blocks. Used as a leveling and flow control agent in solvent-based coatings. Can be used as a surface active agent in aqueous and non-aqueous systems and as a pigment dispersant, a wetting agent and a lubricant. Contains polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene copolymer adducts to a polydimethyl-siloxane backbone and no functional groups. Offers high viscosity and low freeze point.
