Scripset ® Resins (Styrene Maleic Anhydride Copolymers)
as a starch modifier in coatings to give increased oil resistance and water wet-out, as an alkali removal component in water-based coatings, and as an antiblock component in coatings.
Scripset® 700 is a 30% solids water solution of a
styrene : maleic anhydride (1:1 mole ratio)
copolymer which has a 120,000 weight average
molecular weight. The maleic groups have been
reacted to form a disodium salt.

Scripset 700 finds use as a dispersant, emulsifier,
binder, and viscosity modifier. It is a film former
which is effective in reducing linting and dusting,
imparting strength, building porosity, and providing
coating holdout in paper applications.
Scripset 700 is readily diluted with water and exhibits
excellent storage stability when stored at
temperatures from 0 to 35° C. It is a freeze-thaw
stable solution retaining functionality if thawed with
indirect heat (temp. should not exceed 35° C).
High solid, freeze-thaw stable, solution of disodium salt of styrene/maleic anhydride copolymer in water. Used as a starch modifier in coatings to give increased oil resistance and water wet-out, as an alkali removal component in water-based coatings, and as an antiblock component in coatings. Provides very good stability and good film formation.
