Scripset ® Resins (Styrene Maleic Anhydride Copolymers)
as a starch modifier in coatings to give increased water resistance, as an alkali removal component in water-based coatings, as an antiblock component in coatings, and as a binder component in inks.
Scripset ® 720 is a 25% water solution of a styrene
maleic anhydride. This product has a 1:1 mole ratio
with approximately 120,000 weight average
molecular weight. The maleic groups of Scripset
720 have been reacted to form an ammonium salt.
High Solids
Excellent stability when stored properly
Good film former
Easily dilutable with water
Clear liquid
Provides excellent sizing against acid penetrants when applied over an acid base sheet.
Scripset 720 is used as a film former and surface
sizing agent.
Scripset 720 exhibits excellent storage stability when
stored at temperatures between 0 to 35 °C. It is a
freeze-thaw stable solution retaining functionality if
thawed with indirect heat (temp. should not exceed
35 °C).
Scripset 720 should be applied neat at the size
press. It is also readily diluted with water if fed to the
calendar stack.
High solid, freeze-thaw stable, solution of ammonium salt of styrene/maleic anhydride copolymer in water. Used as a starch modifier in coatings to give increased water resistance, as an alkali removal component in water-based coatings, as an antiblock component in coatings, and as a binder component in inks. Provides very good stability, good film formation and very good sizing against acid penetrants when applied over an acid base sheet.
