Type.................................. Polydimethylsiloxane Gum dispersion
Physical form.................. Paste
Special Properties.......... Non-functional; Effective at low concentrations
Primary use.................... Mar Resistance for Paints, Inks, and Coatings
ICM 1131 Additive is a non-reactive, water-dispersable silicone dispersion.
It is used to as an anti-blocking aid in water-based Paints, Inks, and Coatings.
ICM 1131 also has applications in certain solvent-based formulations, especially when
alcohols or polar solvents are present.
APPLICATIONS: Anti-Blocking Aid Mar, Rub, and Abrasion Resistance Secondary Benefits Slip
HOW TO USE:
Typical concentrations of 0.5-3.0% by weight, based upon total solids. Reduce addition
level if finish recoatability is a concern and unfavorable recoatability issues arise.
ICM 1131 is typically added in the final thinning and color-matching step.
Suitable diluents include polar solvents, water, and alcohol.
Anti-blocking aid in water-based system. Provides mar, rub and abrasion resistance. Also increases gloss and slip. Non reactive, water-dispersable, effective at low concentrations. Can be used in certain solvent-based formulations, especially when alcohols or polar solvents are present.
Recommended usage level: 0.5-3.0% by weight, based upon total solids. Reduce addition level if finish recoatability is a concern and unfavorable recoatability issues arise. Should be added in the final thinning and color-matching step. Suitable diluents include polar solvents, water, alcohol.
