It demonstrates excellent performance in these substrates, showing the following principal features: Highly effective against a wide spectrum of algae. Suitable for use in exterior paints, caulks, stucco, and coatings. Does not affect color or other paint and caulking properties. Thermally stable under normal temperatures of storage NUOCIDE® 1071 is highly effective in the control of algae associated with growth on exterior paints. Because it is a powder, its optimum performance is obtained when it is uniformly dispersed in the paint. Therefore, NUOCIDE® 1071 should be incorporated during the pigment dispersion cycle in the paint manufacturing process or predispersed in an appropriate solvent. NUOCIDE® 1071 used in combination with NUOCIDE® 960 or NUOCIDE® 404-D provides a broad spectrum of activity against a variety of fungal and algal species. NUOCIDE® 1071 is recommended at levels between 0.03% and 0.5% based on total paint weight. Specific recommendations are governed by the particular paint formulation and the exposure environment.
