NUOSEPT® 635-W is a non-metallic, liquid organic biocide used for the protection of water based products against microbiological spoilage in the wet state. Typical applications include the preservation of resins, emulsion paints, adhesives, dispersed colors and printing inks.
NUOSEPT® 635-W preservative is an alkyl amine salt
NUOSEPT® 635-W is used to protect aqueous materials against microbial attack during storage in the wet state. It is used to preserve both raw materials as well as finished product. It can be easily incorporated at any point in the manufacturing operation, either by a chemical metering pump or conventional liquid measure.
Suggested use levels vary from 0.15% to 0.30% based on total weight of the formulation. When used at appropriate levels, NUOSEPT® 635-W will preserve the aqueous product against microbial deterioration during storage in the unopened container, and during the wet product's useful service life.
Typically, resin emulsions that may be protected include polyvinyl acetate, acrylic, polyvinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer and vinyl acrylic types. Latex paints, adhesives and other products prepared from the above resin emulsions may be similarly preserved. The following concentrations of NUOSEPT® 635-W preservative (as supplied) based on total weight of composition are suggested: Resin Emulsion 0.15%-0.20%; Latex Paint 0.20%-0.30%; Emulsion Adhesives 0.20%-0.30%.
