NUOSEPT® 91 is a water soluble, liquid organic biocide recommended for use as an industrial preservative for the protection of water-based systems such as resin emulsions, caulks, sealants, spackling, grouts, latex paints, adhesives, dispersed colors and ready-mixed joint cements.

When a product contains water, it is subject to attack by bacteria, unless a functional preservative is used at the proper concentration. NUOSEPT® 91 preservative has been specifically designed to offer protection to susceptible raw material, as well as finished product during its service life. Suggested use levels are from 0.05% to 0.2% based on total weight of formulation. NUOSEPT® 91 is completely soluble in water and, therefore, does not present any difficulty in distributing itself throughout an aqueous composition. It is recommended, however, that NUOSEPT® 91 be added as soon as possible in the manufacturing process. This will assure good distribution and provide antibacterial activity to the formulation at an early stage.
When added at the levels listed herein, NUOSEPT® 91 should preserve the indicated substrates against bacterial deterioration in the unopened can or package and during use for a reasonable length of time after opening the container.
