LORAMA LAF120
ANTI-FOAM ADDITIVE
The LAF120 is a cost-effective silicone-free Anti-Foam additive for use with Lorama Polysaccharide Resin Technology (LPRT). The LAF120 is a collective legion of anti-foam agents chosen to combat foam at the source. The LAF120 is particularly effective at minimizing foam when making an Emulsion Intermediate (EI) as it does not interfere with the water – in – oil emulsion.
The effectiveness of LAF120, when used in an EI, is enhanced by the high-speed dispersion required to make a stable EI. Inadequate distribution of the LAF120 will result in craters and/or a loss in the effectiveness of the LAF120 Anti-Foam additive.
LAF120 aids in reducing air entrapments, which cause craters when generating high viscosity enamels. It also improves film formation when the enamel is applied at high shear with a brush or roller, compared to enamels prepared without an anti-foam additive.
The LAF120 Anti-Foam is used in many solvent-based coatings such as (but not limited to) Nitrocellulose Lacquers; Acid –Cured Finishes; Two-Component Polyurethane Lacquers; Cold Cured Epoxy Resins. Normal usage levels are from 0.05% to 0.5% by weight of the total finished coating formula.
