Ortho-toluenediamine is used as a chemical intermediate in the manufacture of antioxidants, triazole corrosion inhibitors, rubber chemicals, polyols and dyes. Additionally, because of its low meta content, it can be used as a curing agent for epoxy resins and as a replacement for higher cost ortho-phenylenediamine. o-TDA is toxic by repeated exposure.
