Millennium Chemicals produces a range of ultra high-purity yttria stabilised zirconium oxide powders. These materials offer a wide range of characteristics including the degree of stabilisation, surface area and agglomeration / non-agglomeration. These properties enable application with a wide range of methods that can include die pressing; isopressing; injection molding; extrusion; semi-plastic forming; slip casting and tape casting.
These grades are chemically precipitated within strict tolerances which results in a high degree of consistency. The crystal structure of these powders are partially stabilised due to the incorporation of 3 mol % of Y2O3.
These products can also be used in the coatings industry, in particular, EB-PVD coatings of turbine blades.
Millennium-ZY3 is spray-dried. Millennium-ZY3L has a slightly higher average particle size and lower surface area that makes it optimal for slip casting, tape-casting, injection molding and extrusion.
Spray-dried, chemically precipitated, yttria partially stabilized zirconium oxide. Used in the coatings industry, in particular, EB-PVD coatings of turbine blades. Possesses ultra high-purity and high consistency. Provides good combination of stabilisation, surface area and agglomeration/non-agglomeration. Offers slightly higher average particle size and lower surface area.
