They are utilized in rigid and flexible foams, and in coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers (C.A.S.E.) applications. Stepan's basic position in phthalic anhydride and extensive experience in polyester polyol production result in several advantages for STEPANPOL polyols: Superior performance Economical Dependable supply High purity Lot-to-lot consistency Clear, low-color products STEPANPOL PS-1752 is a diethylene glycol-phtalate anhydride-based polyester polyol. Non-foam resin and prepolymer use in elastomers, adhesives, and coatings. Flexible polyether and polyester slabstock urethane for enhanced production of flame laminating, packaging, and reticulated foams. Improved polyester hydrolytic stability. Increases polymer modulus, allowing processing at lower index. Primary hydroxyl advantage. Promotes bonding to various plastics and metals. STEPANPOL polyester polyols can be used in coatings formulations. These polyols are low Tg and amorphous (or non crystalline) in their morphology. Due to their ortho structure, they improve hydrolytic stability, tensile strength, and modulus. Some potential elastomers include: synthesis of urethane prepolymers synthesis of water borne polyurethane dispersions synthesis of radiation curable oligomers formulation of two component urethane coatings formulation with amino type resins in high solids coatings polyol cross linker in radiation curable, cationic cure formulations reactive diluents to increase the solids content of solvent based coatings epoxy flexibilizers for both coating and molding/potting applications as modifying resins to reduce the cost of acrylic, alkyd, epoxy, and polyester formulations Diethylene glycol-phthalic anhydride based polyester polyol. Used in coatings. Improves polyester hydrolytic stability. Increases polymer modulus. Offers primary hydroxyl advantage. Promotes bonding to various plastics and metals.
