Tixogel® UN is a product of the Maximum Performance organoclay series. It is a highly efficient thixotropic agent. Tixogel® UN is optimized for solvent based coating systems with wide polarity range (UN = universal).
Tixogel® UN is a new generation high performance organoclay which exhibits excellent rheology and efficiency. Due to its high efficiency, Tixogel® UN can often be utilized at lower loading levels than competitive organoclays of the same family.
Tixogel® UN can be used in slightly polar solvents for paints, printing inks, mineral oils, enamels, varnishes, adhesives, and mastic compounds.
Suitable solvents are aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons, terpenes, white spirit, hexane, heptane, mineral oils, paraffine, aliphatic hydrocarbons with low content of aromatic compounds; also in mixtures with polar compounds as methanol, ethanol, propanol, butanol, methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, acetone, ethyl acetate, propylene carbonate, glycerine, ethylene glycol, tehyl glycol acetate etc. The percentage of the polar compounds should not be more than 50%.
